Finally went to watch Marley and me with Colin, Shuling and Lloyd.
Arrived early and the ticket-tearer-man didn’t let us enter the movie theatre cos it was 5 MINS TOO EARLY! So we had to take the escalator down, chill on the toilet bowl, wash hands slowly with soap, take escalator up again, make the boyfriends take stupid photos before being allowed into the movie theatre.

Here are some offcamera shots of the actors with the dogs on set.
Although I was the one who wanted to catch the movie, I have to say that I was a quite disappointed as the story was not as poignant as I had expected it to be. The book was much better. The movie did follow the book quite closely which could have potentially been the reason why the different scenes felt like they were splitted up into different chapters in the book, thus lacking the overall flow of the story.
Despite all of that, I still balled my eyes out from the moment Marley showed signs of difficulty in walking. (Just saw you know, I cry everytime I see an animal that is hurt, sick, dead or about to die. As long as they are in discomfort, I will feel really sad. Jolene can testify to the number of times I’ve cried when an animal died our petshop. FYI: I convinced her to fly Kelly, our adopted stray cat all the way to Perth with her just cos I felt sorry for the little kitty!)
So yes, tears were shed and the movie definitely helped me to appreciate Cookie (my beloved talking cat) more, but i still think that it didn’t fulfill my expectations of a good movie.
Movie Rating: 2.5/5
come on, movies will never follow the book closely else there won’t be any fun watching it. But limpeh can relate to your disappointment because when limpeh watch dragon’s ball, limpeh was fxxking disappointed. Come on, an angmo acting as Goku and Chow Ah Fat was not even close. It was not even a bit entertaining AT ALL! Therefore, please refrain from watching any movies that is taken from any book. It is not possible to squeeze everything into a 115mins show. PUIZ!
Exactly! Thank God Gugu the cat is not a book. Can’t wait to watch that!
When are you bringing meeee….
